RIO DE JANEIRO, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Danilo struck late as defending champions Palmeiras kept their perfect 2022 Copa Libertadores record intact with a 1-0 home win over Emelec on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old, who has been linked to a host of European clubs, including Barcelona, bundled home from close range in the 74th minute after Rafael Navarro's headed flick.
The result at Allianz Parque leaves the Brazilian side with 15 points from five matches so far while Ecuador's Emelec have five points from as many outings.
Meanwhile, Velez Sarsfield kept alive their hopes of progressing to the knockout phase with a 3-2 win at Nacional Montevideo. Lucas Janson, Matias Santos and Maximo Perrone were on target for the visitors while Diego Zabala and Emmanuel Gigliotti scored for the Uruguayan outfit.
Velez now have five points from as many matches, eight fewer than Group C leaders Estudiantes.
In other Copa Libertadores group fixtures on Sunday, Paranaense won 2-0 at home to Libertad, Deportivo Tachira overcame Independiente Petrolero 3-0, Colon prevailed 2-1 over Olimpia and Fortaleza secured a 2-0 victory at Alianza Lima.
