BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Miguel Borja scored twice as River Plate cruised to a 3-1 home victory over Arsenal Sarandi in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.
Borja opened the scoring with a long-range effort after Santiago Simon's pass and Nicolas de la Cruz doubled the advantage when he combined with Esequiel Barco before thumping home from distance.
The visitors reduced the deficit through Juan Cejas, who drilled a right-footed shot into the far corner, but Borja put the result beyond doubt by converting from the penalty spot after a Nestor Breitenbruch handball.
The result leaves River Plate fifth in Group A with seven points from four matches, two points behind leaders Colon. Arsenal are 12th in the 14-team group with just three points so far.
In Sunday's only other Primera Division fixture, Godoy Cruz were held to a goalless home draw by Belgrano.
